Ironing in three steps

Lay the shirt down across the ironing board and put the long open side with the buttons upward, away from you.

  • Start at the collar and iron downward. Pull the shirt tight while ironing. Turn the shirt around bit by bit and iron the sides and backside
  • Iron the whole collar from front to back in one swift move
  • Ironing the sleeves is next. Iron along the seams and pull the sleeves tight while doing so. Iron from top to bottom

  • Don't wash on temperatures higher than 30°C if is not necessary
  • Don't let your cotton shirt dry in the sun

Act fast and don's rub! Dab the stain with a piece of paper towel, and add water and soap.

Some tips and tricks:

  • Ink: dab with alcohol and vinegar before washing
  • Candle wax: Get as much off as you can. Use two tissues and iron out the rest of the wax. Use alcohol for the stains and wash after
  • Chewing gum: Rub it off with ice cubes or put the shirt in the fridge to scratch the gum off. Wash after
  • Lipstick: Dab with alcohol and wash after
  • Red wine: Dab with tissues directly. It might help to dab the shirt with some white wine. Wash after
  • Grease: Dab the shirt with white spirit. Wash after
  • Fruit stains: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and carefully dab with lemon juice. Do not use soap! Soap might cause dark stains
